DESCRIPTION:Dear Colleagues\, \nThe most recent CIRSE meeting in Lisbon was another record-breaker: over 6\,600 delegates travelled to Europe’s most westerly capital to join us for 4.5 days of science\, education and innovation. The unique programme offered by CIRSE allows participants to stay abreast of technological advances and new indications for image-guided therapies\, and exchange high-level scientific information in an international setting. \nEndovascular Programme \nLast year featured both an expansion of the venous intervention sessions on offer\, and the introduction of a parallel multidisciplinary EVAR/TEVAR programme\, the Interdisciplinary Endovascular Aortic Symposium (IDEAS). Based on the enthusiastic response of those participating\, the SPC has decided to repackage the vascular sessions into an Endovascular Programme\, which will be clearly stratified into three distinct categories: arterial interventions\, venous interventions and arterial interventions\, aortic interventions\, the latter being presented within the framework of IDEAS 2016. \nCore themes \nAnother prominent feature of the meeting will be interventional oncology\, which is rapidly gaining the recognition of other specialists\, and accruing valuable efficacy data. A special Hot Topic Symposium will examine the paradigm shift in clinical treatment of colorectal liver metastases\, and the new ESMO guidelines that have recently been published. \nOne of the fastest-growing areas of IR practice is embolisation. Alongside robust educational coverage of long-standing therapeutic applications such as trauma or uterine fibroid embolisation\, newer clinical areas such as prostate embolisation will be prominently featured\, and a Controversies in embolisation session will debate bariatric embolisation\, haemorrhoid therapies\, and the transradial approach for visceral interventions. \nClinical involvement is something that CIRSE has been strongly advocating for. As ever\, the CIRSE 2016 programme will feature a large number of clinical management talks\, not just within the\nIR Management track itself\, but as an integral component of all sessions generally. \nStroke therapy will also be a highlight of the 2016 programme. Several sessions\, including a Hot Topic Symposium\, will examine the current evidence\, treatment options\, collaboration\, and how to optimise service provision and ensure that the treatment window is not missed. \nOf course\, ample time will also be devoted to non-vascular interventions\, which remain an important foundation stone of the specialty. Biliary interventions\, drainage\, vertebroplasty and more will all be rigorously examined. \nBack to Barcelona \nBarcelona has continually ranked among the five best conference destinations in Europe\, and offers excellent facilities\, exceptional flight connections and a wealth of quality accommodation. The International Convention Centre Barcelona (CCIB) is ideal for our needs\, boasting ample lecture space and an easy-to-navigate layout. It is easily reached by metro\, tram and bus services\, and has four hotels in the immediate vicinity. \nThe versatile design of the CCIB will be put to good use: to improve delegate flow and ensure a convenient floor-plan\, the technical exhibition will be centrally located between the two main lecture rooms. DESCRIPTION:El Congreso SIDI 2016 es un evento que no sólo va a reunir a grandes personalidades Iberoamericanas del Intervencionismo\, sino que también va enfocar aspectos de relevancia y actualidad. Un amplio abanico de sesiones y temas de discusión van hacer que el congreso enriquezca y entretenga por igual. \nObjetivo Congreso Intervencionismo\nLa vida de una sociedad se constata en la actividad diaria\, en su compromiso con el conocimiento y en el impulso de su razón social pero\, también\, es importante realizar un gesto de reivindicación y de fortaleza una vez al año. \nEl congreso es este gesto. No sólo sirve para el encuentro\, la confraternización y el intercambio de conocimientos entre socios y amigos\, sino que también sirve para proclamar un “Aquí estamos”. \nZaragoza 2002 fue el segundo encuentro y va a ser difícil superarlo. En esta ocasión Zaragoza 2016 puede conseguirlo gracias a la colaboración de SERVEI que\, por primera vez\, se involucra activamente y patrocina. \nTemas principales a tratar en el congreso\nCuando se plantean los temas troncales de un congreso\, se busca\, sobre todo\, la novedad aunque se traten\, en cierto modo\, los mismos temas. De hecho\, así lo dice el viejo aforismo Nihil obstat sub sole. Y\, es verdad\, aun teniendo en cuenta que el Intervencionismo avanza a pasos agigantados es difícil encontrar algo novedoso. \nNo obstante\, en es esta reunión se profundizará en el tratamiento ablativo del cáncer. Se centrará la atención en el sector venoso sin dejar de lado el arterial. Se busca\, así\, abordar las mesas convencionales con temas de novedad que nos den una visión del futuro inmediato.

Carefully selected case reports also constitute a defining element of this congress. \nParticipants have regularly lauded the congress for facilitating direct\, open exchanges with colleagues presenting information based on their own real-life experience\, with younger doctors especially appreciative of the opportunity to engage in thorough discussions outside of the busy workplace environment. \nWe look forward to welcoming another group of dedicated interventionalists in June! \nICCIR Advisory Board

DESCRIPTION:Os informamos que el envío de poster on-line estará abierto hasta el 15 de marzo a las 23:59 horas. \nOs recordamos que el próximo martes 15 de marzo a las 23:59 horas finaliza el plazo de inscripción del primer o segundo autor de poster y comunicaciones orales. En caso de no realizar la misma antes de la fecha indicada los trabajos correspondientes se retirarán y no serán presentados en el congreso. \nAsí mismo\, rogamos tengáis en cuenta que ante los casos de apropiación ilícita de imágenes los autores son los únicos responsables de las imágenes utilizadas en sus poster quedando exenta la SERAM de cualquier causa legal.
